1. Christmas Light Parade - Saturday, Dec. 2 meet at County Yard at 5:30 if you’d like to ride on the Dance Studio float. Please dress WARM!  If you’re interested in helping to decorate the float - please reach out!

2. Christmas Showcase - Friday, Dec. 8th at 5:30 and Saturday, Dec. 9th at Noon. (info for costumes, arrival, etc has already been sent out)

3. Need a volunteer for Backstage on Friday night’s performance. Need a volunteer for Walking Line Up on Saturday’s performance. Volunteer sign up list is posted at the studio.

4. Raffle baskets, refreshments, and bake sale information has been sent out and posted at the studio - please sign up and let Morgan Stevenson know where and how you can help.

5. FYI: Potential additional performances for some classes in December are available - we’ve been asked to be part of the FRHS Winter Music show again this year (info to be sent out when I receive it) as well as MMH Long Term Care (again, info to be sent as it is received)

6. Fall Semester classes will resume through Dec. 15th and the Spring Semester schedule will begin on Jan. 8th - with the exception of the below schedule changes the week of Dec. 11th

7. Modified schedule for the week of December 11th 

   1. No Monday 2:15 Ballet/Tap on December 11th.

   2. No Tuesday 2:15 Ballet/Tap on December 12th

   3. No Wednesday 8:30 Grown Up & Me on December 13th

   4. No Tuesday 5:30 Ballet 1 on December 12th

   5. No Thursday 5:45 Jazz on December 14th

      1. Please feel free to take a “make up” class the week of December 11th for the above classes that will not meet - if you need a recommendation on which class to take, please ask.

8. Winter Break: December 16th - January 7th.

9. Some classes will be changing days/times for the Spring Semester. Registration will open December 8th. If you already registered for the Spring Semester, you will not need to pay the yearly registration fee. Most classes will stay the same. If you’d like to add/drop classes, you may do so beginning December 8th. The Spring Semester schedule will be posted December 1.

10. Spring Semester dates: January 8th - June 13th. Spring Recital dates June 14th and 15th.

We are excited to change up a few things this Spring.  New schedule & a new teacher - we have a great 2023 planned.  Please help me welcome Miss Natalie as our Tumbling teacher - you can find her Bio listed under the Staff section.

Winter Showcase is December 10 at 3:00 in the FRHS Gym.  At 5:30 those that want to participate in the light parade, will meet at the county yard.  

Classes resume through December 21 and then we will break until January 9.

We'd like to welcome our new teacher, Sierra Keepers!  Sierra will be teaching Hip Hop A and B this season and will be assisting in various dance classes.  You can learn a little about Miss Sierra in the Staff Section of our website.  We are so happy to have her added to our family.

Hello Dance Families!

Happy February 1st.  We've had an amazing first month of dance classes.  I love the energy that the dancers bring to class.  We've learned quite a bit already, and I'm excited to continue to watch their growth in technique and confidence.  

A few quick notes...

1.  I've been informed by the Vet's Hall, that there will be a special elections day on Tuesday in March and June, so I will need to reschedule those dates.  The conflict dates are March 26 and June 4, and they've offered Monday, March 25 and June 3// Wednesday March 27 and June 5// or Thursday March 28 and June 5 as alternate dates.  Could you please respond back with the best date (M, W, or Th) for an alternate class?  I want to pick a date that works the best for everyone!  Sorry about those changes.

2.  February is the month of LOVE!  I thought that it might be fun to bring that love to class, so I'm suggesting that Tuesday, February 12 be a Mommy/Me and/or Daddy/Me dance day!  I will teach all the regular classes, and you get to join your dancer in the fun.  This is obviously optional, but if you've ever wanted to groove with your child, this is the time to do so.  <3

3.  I can't believe I'm going to say this, but June will be here before we know it.  I haven't reserved any performance spaces, and I haven't picked a recital theme, or costumes, or music...BUT, I have had children asking me if they will get to perform in June.  Would your child like to participate in a recital this June (plus any added performances I can squeeze in at local schools/hospitals)?  If your child would like to participate and would like a costume, please let me know, and then grab their measurements for me ASAP.  I like to shop the clearance racks ;-) and with the dance classes being larger this year, I will need to start my costume searches sooner than later to grab those discounted specials.  The measurements I need are Chest, Waist, Hips, Girth, and Inseam.

4.  I still have a few open balances for January.  If you need to know your tuition, you can email me at any time.

5.  My dance shoe donation box is growing weekly.  If your dancer needs a shoe, please check the box to see if there is a size that will fit them.

It's time to register for the 2017-2018 season!  Below you will find a class request registration form, but if you've never registered with CDS, you'll need to fill out a longer registration form and waiver which you can find here on the website (under the register here tab) or drop by the studio and fill one out there!  I would like to form classes as soon as possible, so please get this info to me ASAP!  You can email candee@candeesdanceshoppe.com, FB message me, or drop the paper off in our secured mailbox at the studio.  Classes for the Fall 2017 season will begin the week of August 21. 2017.  Classes will be prorated for the month of August.

Jazzercise is coming to Fall River Mills!  Please see the info below and come try out a class!

Summer Sessions start Monday, July 10th.  No prior dance experience necessary.  Don't worry about having the correct dance shoes...just come on down and boogie with us!  This is a great way to sample a dance class.

Zumba will be on Thursdays at 6:30 for the month of July.

We are taking a break for the summer after our June recital on the 10th.  We have summer sessions in July and then regular classes will resume in August with the school calendar.  If you are interested in signing up for classes, please contact the studio so that I can start scheduling the Fall semester.  Thanks!

I am adding music to the parent portal for recital purposes.  The music has not been edited yet, but the full song is still helpful if students would like to practice their dances at home.  Costume information has been emailed to the parents and there are copies at the studio for anyone that did not get their email.  The recital dates have not been confirmed yet, but we know that it will either be the second or third weekend in June, with a dress rehearsal on Friday night and two shows on Saturday.  I would also like to dance at the fair and perform for the elementary school...and if possible, take some of the littles to the long term care home (strictly because of the space issue) to have them perform there.  I'm very excited for everything on the horizon!  Thank you for your continued support.  I love watching your children grow in song and dance.

We will be opening our doors on Thursdays from 9:00-10:30 for an Open Play / Creative Movement class for those 5 and under.  We will have a small bounce house, balance beams, a tunnel, small mat, maracas, scarves, music, and fun!  This is a drop in style class, with no recital commitments.  First child $3, additional children $2, babies under 18 months are free.  We do ask that parents stay with their children at all times, as it will be conducted as a Parent/Child style class.  Our first meeting will be on Thursday, February 23, and it will be free!

NEW CLASS!! 

Wednesday January 18, at 5:30, Marisa Compton is starting a Zumba class.  We are offering some incentives because it is a new class, so for those Adults (adult jazz and adult tap) that have already paid a registration fee for the studio, you are welcome to take both January classes for FREE (1/18/17 and 1/25/17).  If you want to spread the word, those that have not registered prior to January 2017 will have their registration fee waived if they sign up in January 2017 and their first two classes will be $5 each.
The regular fees (starting in February 2017) will be:
$20 registration ($45 family max)
$30 monthly
$10 drop in

Hi Dance Families!                                                                                                                           11-15-2016

This is our last week of classes before we close down for the 2016 holidays.  We will start back in January, along with the school schedule.  I have heard from a few of you, but I need to make the dance schedule for next year.  This schedule will be in effect January-June, and we will be gearing up for a dance recital at the end of the season.  I am trying to arrange the schedule to fit as many family needs as possible, but I know that I won’t be able to accommodate everyone.  Once I hear from everyone, I will make a definite schedule.  Please let me know what classes you are interested in taking, and what days/times will work the best for you.  I will do my absolute best to work with you, but again, I can’t promise a picture perfect schedule for everyone!  If you know someone that is interested in joining our dance family in January, please encourage them to contact me as soon as possible, so that I may finalize dance classes.  If you will no longer be dancing, please let me know (and if you are starting back up in January, let me know that as well!)  I’ve only included students and classes that have been dancing, but I can add students and classes.  Thanks for your help, and have a wonderful holiday season!!

The Fall 2016 schedule will resume on August 22, 2016.  The August tuition will be prorated, since there will only be a week and a half of classes in August.  I plan to teach through September, but I'm still not positive what I will be doing October - December (I know, crazy me having a baby in October!!)  I am hoping that I can get a substitute teacher to come live with me and teach for October and November, but I'm afraid the likelihood of that happening is small, so for just this year, I may have to close down the studio October - December and we will start fresh in January, with no stops until June (aside from the usual holidays).  I plan to have a showcase in June, where you will be able to see your talented children's hard work in action.  Details for that will be presented later, and I will keep you up to date on my plan for October-December.

I have kept the Fall schedule the same as the Spring schedule was, so please let me know if your child will continue their dance classes in August, or if they will take a break from dance.  If they would like to change classes, I need to know that information as well.  I am more than happy to add dance classes that are not on the schedule, but I have left the time slots open for now, until I know what classes I need to add.

I would like to have an Open House for the studio on August 20...details for that will be released soon.

Thank you for patience with me and for your trust in me.  I have had a lot of fun getting to know everyone, and your children are a blessing in my life.  I love to teach!

Payments are due by the first of the month but are not considered late until the 10th. 

Summer Session registration will begin JUNE 3.

Spring Session classes will end on July 1.  We will take a break from the regular schedule for July and the beginning of August and will resume with the regular schedule again on August 22, 2016.  If you paid the registration fee for the Spring or Summer sessions you DO NOT need to pay the registration fee again for Fall 2016.  Tuition in August will be pro-rated.
